Greece Food Festival | 8 Days – 7 Nights

Arrival to Rhodes where you will be met at the airport and transferred to one of the host hotels. Check in at the hotel and remainder of the day at your leisure to explore the local surroundings.

Breakfast at the hotel and depart for a guided scenic drive down the east coast to Lindos. On the way, you will be given the opportunity to see some of the local handicrafts, the art of ceramics. Bonis is a Rhodian ceramic workshop, half way to Lindos. Established in 1951, it is the most popular pottery on the island, making and selling famous traditional Greek Ceramics. On the spot you will be given a full demonstration as green clay turns into a vase, the designs that are engraved free hand, the coloring of the earthenware to the final product. All handmade!

Stroll through the labyrinth of the Medieval city you will discover byzantine churches, mosques since the Ottoman occupation of the island as well as a synagogue still operating, in the heart of the area called “La Juderia”. During your free time you may complete your visit on your own, with a nice cool refreshment or a local beer or even a nice cold coffee in a typical café of the town. Afternoon return to the hotel.

Breakfast and relax at the hotel and/or choose one of the three optional tours at your all-inclusive resort, Symi, or Blutopia. Breakfast at the hotel (Aegean or American style) and departure for a full day guided tour through Rhodes Island. The day will start with a visit to the Bee Museum to taste all local honey products and the famous MELEKOUNI. Along the west coast, climbing towards the highest mountain of Rhodes, named Attavyros, we will each Embona village for a wine tasting, as well a variety of local traditional products. Starting with a small glass of “Souma” traditional drink along with olives, to our delicious wines exclusively from the local winery. White dry wine, red dry, red semi-sweet, white or rose Muscat (or both) and finally sun-dried (very sweet) red or white wine. All accompanied by olives and cherry tomatoes. At the end of the tasting, you will be offered our very unique liqueur “Ouzo with coffee”. Then together with some bread try two types of extra virgin olive oil and aromatic olive oil with spices. In the end, you’re also welcome to taste 6 different types of honey as well as visit our folklore museum. It has been said that Rhodes was the first island in the Aegean to cultivate a vineyard and make wine. It’s no coincidence that in ancient times Rhodians were considered the largest wine merchants in the Mediterranean. Lunch will be held at a local restaurant. After sunset return to the hotel for dinner.

Relax at the resort or enjoy parts of Rhodes or the South Aegean on your own.
