Syntagma Square is considered to be the heart of Modern Athens. The main attraction at Syntagma Square is the House of Parliament, where Evzones, members of the presidential guard dressed in traditional uniforms stand vigil at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament. The square is a central point to access all the major attractions of Athens that are located within walking distance and until today is home to political rallies and other demonstrations, but it’s also a central gathering place for young and old in Athens.
