GRAMVOUSA BALOS WITH MEAL
Starting early,
this excursion will lead us to the western point of the island. After a long
route, we will reach the Port of Kissamos or Kavonissi, from where we will take
our boat for a pleasant sail along the coastline. On the way you will be able
to see the signs of an impressive geological phenomenon; A land elevation of 6
to 9 meters above sea level, as Crete has been rising out of the sea on the
western side and sinking on the eastern side for more than 2000 years.
Next, we will
arrive at the port of the pirate island of GRAMVOUSA, a well-protected area. It
is common knowledge that during the Turkish occupation, the residents of the
island started looting boats passing through, hence the island’s pirate
reputation. In addition, there is no way we miss the chance to visit the
Venetian Castle, the spectacular view, marvelous landscape and the “legend of
the Pirate’s hidden treasure”! Besides your visit to the castle, you can also
have plenty of time for swimming or lunch on board.
Then, our boat
will depart for the Blue Lagoon of Balos, a shallow and warm water lagoon. What
makes this place especially unique is its crystal-clear, azure-colored sea
water in combination with the white sand.
You are welcome to enjoy a refreshing swim or sunbathe on the white sandy beach
during our three-hour stay.
