Itinerary:

Day 1- Arrival in Heraklion  Airport & Free day 

Arrival in the airport of Heraklion Airport and transfer to your Hotel

Rest day free to visit the city center.

Day 2 – Rethymno – Lake Kournas – Chania

08:00 Pick up from hotel

Our first or last stop is the Venetian city of Rethymno with its big market, beautiful port and windy streets full of life, shops, restaurants, and colorful houses.

Kournas Lake is surrounded by mountains giving a most serene impression, where if time and weather permit we can rent pedalos and go around the lake and admire the views and the ducks who dive in and out as if to greet us.

Day 3 – South Crete tour

Pick up from hotel: 09:00 

The south side of Crete has always been the least touristic, least noisy part of the island. Having said that, spots like Matala, Kokkinos Pyrgos (literaly meaning Red Tower) along with its ancient Greek-Roman town of Gortys and the Minoan settlement of Phaestos and its palace will transport you to different time periods, ranging from 2500 BC up till the 1960’s.

Day 4 –  Free day

Free day to explore the city of Kavala and do your shopping.

Day 5 –  Agios Nikolaos & Elounda tour
08:00 Pick up transfer from hotel.

Our first stop of the day will be on the Northeastern side of Crete, at the coastal village of Elounda. There, we will board the boat and sail to the island of Spinalonga for a guided tour. After Spinalonga you have the option of having lunch on the island of Kolokytha. This is an optional feature at an extra charge).

Day 6 – Heraklion city tour & Aquarium 

The visit to the big Saturday open air street market in Heraklion is the main event of the day. As well as fruit and vegetables, you can find shoes, clothes, fabrics and local products at very low prices. The atmosphere feels like an oriental bazaar – full of noise and the cries of the vendors selling their goods. This is the perfect opportunity to stock up on spices and Cretan herbs.

Day 7 – Free day

Free day to relax end enjoy the last day in Heraklion city.

Day 8 – Departing day

12.00 Check out from your hotel and transfer to Heraklion Airport according to your scheduled flight.
